Furniture Building

Recently Jolen found a great website (knockoffwood.blogspot.com) that walks you through step by step how to make Pottery Barn furniture for super cheap.  It was becoming a bit of an obsession for her and so at the risk of her flying to Alaska to meet the lady who runs the site, I suggested that we try one of the projects and see how it went.  The goal at the start was to make this:

We started last Saturday and probably would have gotten it all built if we had started earlier and if Ellie hadn't been a trainwreck. Oh well, life happens.

Seriously, is there anything better looking than a woman who knows how to use power tools?

This is why Jolen is so much better than I am at stuff like this.  She is far more exact with measurements and making sure that things are level, straight and good to go.

This project reminded me how much I would like to buy a sliding compound miter saw.  My little saw just struggles with bigger pieces.
